LIFE engages and assists community organizations and volunteers in implementing its literacy-enhancing model which helps parents and families improve the literacy of their children in the home, at school and in their communities
Family Navigators keep parents informed of tutoring sessions, the availability of reading materials and also teach reading skills to parents and families.
LIFE has embarked on reaching parents and families at community "POP UP FOR PARENTS" events by teaching and training the benefits of reading to their child at an early age
Parents attend workshops to learn how to participate in their child's educational experiences
Students attend weekly tutoring sessions to improve reading skills
STAR*- The Sing, Talk And Read Program teaches young mothers to communicate and read to their children from birth
LIFE's literacy-enhancing model is now in 24 schools including primary and infant schools and in special needs programs in two parishes in Jamaica
All 24 schools have in place a library that caters to struggling readers
In-person and online workshops to help parents address the literacy needs of their children
Parents participated in reading with their children at home and helping with practice work (home work) over the summer vacation and holidays
